Teaching

• In orthopaedics department, U.G. and P.G. students are taught according to the syllabus.
• We have separate seminar rooms for teaching U.G. and P.G. students.
• We have separate library with recent books on orthopaedics including trauma and joint replacement.
• U.G. teaching is carried out during their ward duty time including clinics are taken in wards and integrated lectures are taken according to the batch of undergraduate students.
• P.G. teaching includes seminar and case presentation on recent researches in orthopaedics and trauma as well as cold topics in orthopaedics.
• P.G. teaching is also carried out in O.P.D., wards, and operation theatres also.

Research

  • In the department, post graduate student are given dissertation on recent advance topics

  • The thesis work carried out is guided by post graduate teachers

  • Different papers are published from staff members of orthopaedics department at international and national levels

• There is laminar air flow for better surgical environment especially joint replacement surgeries.
• In operation theatre, we have shaver system for the arthroscopic surgeries.
• For Arthroscopic surgeries, we have arthroscopic instrument set.
• In operation theatre, we have different instrument sets like D.H.S. set, Proximal Femoral Nailing set, Femur Nailing set, Tibia Nailing set, Humerus Nailing Set, Tibia Plating set, Spine Surgery set, etc.
• In operation theatres, trauma and spinal surgeries are performed on fracture table with different attachments.
• Large horizontal autoclave machine provides autoclaving of instruments and implants for the surgeries.
• Recovery area in operation theatre has beds for postoperative patients care.
• We have 3 wards in orthopaedics dept. containing 30 beds each with average occupancy of 150% in each ward.
